Course Summary: This course will be a brief look at natural
disasters and their relationship to people. We will study
the science behind some selected natural disasters and how
they fit into ecological processes. We will also study how
humans react, as individuals and as a community. Given the
timeliness of ongoing wildfires in the west, hurricanes, and
the pandemic, this course will focus on those topics along
with floods and tornados which are of local interest.
