This class provides an overview of key theories, concepts and
methods that have been used to examine learning in relation
to intersectional forms of power, oppression, and trauma. In
addition to exploring the current status of these key
frameworks, an important goal of this course will be to
(re)imagine how they might be strengthened in pursuit of
robust educational justice. Learning Sciences students may
use this to fill theorizing credits

In this workshop-style class, students will consider where,
when and how time-and-place complexities and power dynamics
can inform and reinvigorate their chosen conceptual and
methodological approaches. Students will be asked to
critically reflect upon, anticipate, and respond to
methodological challenges related to learners
life-developmental trajectories and contextual variation
(i.e., demographic and geographic diversity; institutional
and political affordances and constraints; power dynamics,
relations, and formations). Learning Sciences students may
use this to fill apprenticeship credits
