The lab portion of C 117 is now a new course CHEM-C 127 (2 cr.). Students should enroll in both C117-C127 in order to obtain the same credit as the C 117 (5 cr.) course from previous semesters. The content of the course has not changed; this change was made to offer students more flexibility in scheduling classes. C 117 : P - To remain enrolled in C 117, students must take and complete the Chemistry Placement Examination (CPE) with a score of 15 or above and fulfill one of the following math requirements: 1) Math SAT score of 580 or above, 2) Math ACT score of 25 or above, 3) MSA score of 17 or above or 4) completed math course M 025 or above on the BL campus with a grade of C- or higher. To remain in C117 with CPE scores of 14 or lower, the completion of the ALEKS On-Line Review Course with an overall mastery of 95% by August 9, in addition to the above math requirements, is required. - OR - C117 : P - If students complete CHEM-C 103 with a C- or better, they can enroll directly into CHEM-C 117 without taking the Chemistry Placement Exam (CPE) or fulfilling the above math requirements.
