EDUC-M 135 SELF INSTRUCTION IN ART (2 CR) 9767 PERM NS2 ARR ARR ARR De M 20 12 0 Above class students are required to attend an orientation Jul 5 from 9a-12p in EDUC 3115 and are required to participate in a portfolio session following completion of the course, date and time ARR. (Students who cannot attend orientation should contact instructor to make alternative arrangements) Above class taught online Above class designed for non-art majors who wish to learn basic skills in art and/or craft making. Students select a strand of lessons, based on personal interests, and complete a sequence of projects designed to build art/craft knowledge and skills. Students may choose from a broad range of media and genres; such as, drawing, painting, graphic design, cartooning, fanart, zines, collage, bookmaking, sculpting, costume making, needlecrafts, photography, construction or model making. Students work with a tutor in an online environment as they progress through the self-selected assignments. Tutors assist students in achieving learning goals and making connections to art/craft making goals in everyday or workplace environments. During an orientation, which will take place on July 5 at 9:00am EST, students will be provided instruction about how to meet online. During this orientation they will be assigned a tutor and be able to select a time for online instruction and critique.
